Stir Fry, Rice and Potatoes

Ingredients - Jasmine Rice, Red Potatoes and Stir Fry Peppers


Find the nearest grocery store and find the following products.
Major Ingredients: Mahatma Jasmine Rice, Publix Brand Red Potatoes, Birds Eye Pepper Stir-Fry
Minor Ingredients that should be around the house: Filtered Water, Salt, Pepper, Soy Sauce, Olive Oil, Earth Balance Butter (or unhealthy butter if that is your thing).
Cooking Utensils that should be around the house: Stove with two burners, Microwave, Pot with a tight fitting lid (for the rice), Skillet/Pan with a cover (can be very loose), Plates, Fork, Measuring Cup

How to Cook this dish in less than 15 minutes

Measure and pour 2-3/4 cups of water into the Pot with the tight fitting lid.
Add three "splashes" of salt. A splash of salt equals: take the salt shaker and shake it three times into the water.
Add one splash of Olive oil. A splash of Oilve Oil equals: open the olive oil container fill up the cap with oil and pour into the water.
Place the tight fitting lid on the Pot and place the pot on a stove eye, set the temperature to HIGH and bring to a boil. It will take a several minutes before it comes to a boil.

While the water for the rice is coming to a boil:
Using only cold water, wash four Red Potatoes in a dish in the sink.
Poke muliple holes in each red potato with a fork. Eight times in different areas of the potatoes is enough.
Place the potatoes on a microwave safe plate. Microwave the potatoes on HIGH for at least 8 minutes.

While the potatoes are cooking and water for the rice is coming to a boil:
Pour two tablespoons of Olive Oil in the bottom of a Skillet/Pan.
Empty the contents of the Birds Eye Pepper Stir Fry into the Skillet/Pan
Place the Skillet/Pan on a stove eye, set the temperature between MEDIUM and HIGH. Cover with a lid. Every few minutes stir the contents.
The rice water should now be boiling or about to boil. Once the water is boiling, measure two cups of Jasmine rice. Pour rice into the boiling water.
Stir the rice one time and place the tight fitting lid back on the pot.
IMPORTANT - Turn the temperature of the rice eye down to just a touch above Low.
Set a kitchen timer for 11 minutes. At sea level the rice will be finished in 11 minutes. If you measured too much water or too little rice it may take a bit longer before it is finished. You can tell it is finished when it doesn't look "soggy".
The Stir Fry should be finished in 5-8 minutes. You will know it is finshed when it is warm and flexible.
The potatoes should be finished in 8 minutes, cut one open and it should be soft and hot inside. If not microwave a bit longer.
When finished, place the rice, stir fry and potato on a plate. Season with salt, pepper and soy sauce to taste.
